I joined as a backend engineer and became tech lead in early 2025 as the company grew from four people to twenty. I built the Pydantic AI agents that model diligence the way the analysts actually work it, the ingestion that turns 0.5–10 GB datarooms of PDFs, spreadsheets, and scans into structured analysis, and an architecture the next engineer can follow. The engine evaluated around forty clean-energy projects, over $7B in assets, surfacing roughly forty red flags per project, and its findings informed real investment decisions.

Nurses were looking up immunization records one student at a time, and the batch alternative took someone 2–6 hours of manual work, so it happened monthly at best. I pitched the fix and led the build with the head of nursing and the head of student information systems: the sync now takes about ten minutes and runs weekly, daily when it needs to, for 5,000 students. Then we open-sourced it, and districts across Minnesota are reaching out. I've been with ISD 197 on and off since 2020, starting with a COVID tracker that helped leaders decide whether schools stayed open.

The ordering platform was drowning in tickets, five to ten high-severity a day, so I restructured its documentation until platform users could answer their own questions. Later, on sustainability, I built a Python tool for auditing the functions behind Amazon's global carbon-emissions reporting.

I led ten volunteers building an intake system for Seattle Humane: recruiting, onboarding, and coordinating engineers who'd never worked together, all donating their evenings. Open source, and the sharpest lesson in scoping and pace I've had.
